“Magic?”
Echoed Crystella, somewhat disbelievingly.
“If you
don’t believe me, then you jolly well don’t need to come.” Retorted Pixie
huffily.
“Alright, fine.
I believe you.” Said Crystella “It’s just a bit hard to believe. That’s all.”
Pixie shook
her head disbelievingly. “You find Magic unbelievable” said Pixie through
gritted teeth. “But you don’t find talking to a fairy unusual?!”
Crystella
opened her mouth to retort something, and closed it again. “
That’s what
I thought” said Pixie again. “Besides, the spell won’t work if you don’t
believe in magic.”
Crystella
shot Pixie a look of enraged defeat.
“Fine” she said. “I really should believe in magic now that I am talking
to a fairy”
Pixie pulled
out her wand and said “Close your eyes” Crystella shut her eyes as Pixie
chanted:
Across
the stars and way past Mars
Fairy
forest is not far
Take
us there as fast as you can
Take
us to that beautiful, enchanted land
As soon as Pixie said those words, the
floor beneath them began to crack, they began to fall, and at the same time
everything was spinning.
When Crystella opened her eyes, she
swore she saw stars and Mars zip past faster than a bullet. They started to
slow down when they came nearer to a sort of planet.
It seemed like a planet, but it was
flat. It was flat, but very thick. It was surrounded by a glittering bubble
that shimmered prettily.
Crystella felt Pixie grab her hand and
they went right through the glittering bubble. Then they fluttered down gently
onto a nice, solid ground.
“We’re here!” said Pixie breathlessly.
Crystella looked around eagerly to see
what Fairy Forest was like.
Up above them the sky was a dark blue,
slowly turning purple as the sun was beginning to rise (or set. Crystella
couldn’t really tell which) There was no sign of the glittering bubble at all.
The ground was quite springy, like the bottom half of a shoe, and it seemed to
be a colour of reddish brown. Around them there were trees, trees that looked a
lot like our trees except for the fact that their bark and branches were
twisted so thickly that you couldn’t tell which was the tree and which were
just weeds or dried wood. The leaves of those trees seemed to be glowing a
calming purple glow, and there seemed to be a soft singing or humming in the
distance.
Pixie smiled to herself as she saw
Crystella’s head bobbing around, trying to take everything in.
“But we can’t explore yet” said
Crystella sadly. “I really need to sleep”
Pixie looked surprised. “But it’s 6:00
in the morning!” said Pixie, a look of concern on her face.
Crystella was as confused as ever.
“But it was 12:00 midnight in my place!”
Pixie chuckled and said “Oh yes of
course. I forgot that time is different here. Come with me, I’ll take you to my
house, where you can sleep.”
Crystella, still looking confused, followed
Pixie into the thick forest, where all her adventures would begin.
