(Hi everyone! It has been a long time since I updated my blog. I was focusing on my school work. But I am back now. I want to share with you a story I recently wrote. This is the original story of a story I submitted for a competition. The competition asked for a bahasa Indonesia story but I find it diffuclt to wite in Bahasa Indonesia so I write it first in English. So here's the original story that I will later translate to English. I hope you like this version as well. Enjoy!)
In a small village, not far from where you live now, there lived a girl named Clara. She was quite tall, had long blonde hair, and was a relatively nice girl. But she had one problem. She didn’t take care of her hair!
You see, Clara preferred to have her hair open. Normally, this is usually this quite harmless. But after playing, Clara didn’t brush or tie her hair. As a result, her hair was full of tangled bits and had a wild look about it. She also didn’t wash her hair as often as she should. And if she did was her hair, she didn’t dry it very well. So in the end, her hair smelled damp and unpleasant.
Clara’s
mom, Ava, used to warn her. “Clara! Take care of your hair for goodness’s sake!
One day the Hair Elves will come for you just as they did in my day! And then
you’ll be sorry!”.
But
Clara didn’t listen. “Pooh! Hair Elves don’t exist anyway! I’ll just take care
of my hair later!”.
Clara was always saying that. She promised again and again that she would take care of her hair afterwards. But she never did. So, one day, the Hair Elves, seeing this, agreed to teach Clara a lesson. That night, when Clara was fast asleep, again with her hair open, the elves crept into her room. They quickly got to work tying and fluffing Clara’s hair into a frenzy of knots and tangles. Satisfied with their work, the Elves flew away back to their home.
The
next morning, the moment Clara opened her little blue eyes and stretched
herself, she looked into the mirror. She was so horrified by the tangles,
frizzy bunch atop her head that once was her hair, that she screamed a
horrified scream.
The
scream was so loud that her mother came rushing into the room. When Clara’s mom
saw Clara’s hair, she let out a gasp and said “Clara, sit down on the carpet, I
will fix your hair.”
Clara
did as she was told. Clara’s mother brushed it, and combed it, and washed it, and
dried it, and brushed it again, and straightened it, and oiled it, and lots of other
things.
Soon
Clara’s hair was back to normal. And by normal I mean before it was tangled
up.
Oh her
hair was beautiful! It was long and shiny and smooth. Clara thought it was so
beautiful that she should leave it open to show off.
Soon
it was back to what it was before. A tangled mess.
But
Carla thought that it was fine. “I’ts just the way it was before. Why waste
time fixing it? It will go back to being messy anyway.” Said Carla.
Carla’s
mom was so shocked.
“Carla!”
She gasped. “I thought you would learn your lesson!”.
But Carla didn’t learn her lesson. In fact
Carla thought that since her hair was already tangled, she didn’t need to worry
about the hair elves anymore.
But
Clara was WRONG! The Hair Elves saw that she still didn’t learn her lesson. So
the leader of the Hair Elves decided to do something that has never bean done
before!....
Tangle
someone’s hair for the SECOND time!
When
he told the other elves about his idea, they were very surprised considering
that this has never been done before. But nevertheless, that night, the Hair
Elves snuck into Clara’s room once more.
This
time, they made it even more tangled. There were layers upon layers upon layers
of frizziness and the tangles were everywhere!
They
tangled her hair so much that it was a huge mass of tangles and frizziness.
They then tangled those tangles together and tied them to the bedposts, the
lamp, the desk, and everything the hair could reach.
When
they were done, they stood back and admired their work.
“That
will surely make her learn her lesson” Said one of the Hair Elves.
“That
will take months to brush out!” Chirped one of the younger Hair elves
gleefully.
“It would be a miracle if she even could brush
it out” Said the Chief Hair Elf in an amused tone.
All
the other elves agreed and, now satisfied with their work, went back to their
home. Clara was still fast asleep and didn’t even know that the Hair Elves had
been there at all.
The
next morning, Clara couldn’t get up from her bed. She tugged and struggled and
struggled and squirmed, but she couldn’t get up.
“MOOM!!
Come quick!” She yelled.
And
Clara’s mom, thinking something must be wrong, ran upstairs as quickly as she
could. When she saw Clara with her huge mass of hair, she was very surprised.
“Oh
Clara,” She said with a sigh “Why didn’t you learn your lesson the last time.
Now look what happened!”
Clara didn’t say anything. She was sorry now
that she didn’t listen to her mom.
After
a few failed attempts to untie Clara’s hair, Clara’s mother finaly said
“I’m
afraid we will have to cut it. There is no other way.”
“No!”
Said Clara. “I like my hair like this! I don’t want to cut it!”
“There
is no other way. Unless you want to stay in this bed forever. Do you want
that?” Replied Clara’s mom.
“n..n…no..”
muttered Clara. “but…”
“no
buts Clara.” Said Clara’s mom.
“Ok” Said Clara meekly.
Clara’s
mom got out some super sharp scissors
and…
Snip!,
snap! Snip! Clara’s hair was cut off.
In the
end, she had hair so short it looked like it wasn’t there.
Having
now learnt her lesson, she promised to herself and her mom that from that day
on, she would take care of her hair.
And she kept her promise. After a few years, her hair grew back. But she still took care of it. And as long as she lived, the Hair Elves never bothered her again. --- THE END
