Title not yet decided. (Part one)

(Hello everyone! my mom and I are writing a story but we should use certain words in that story. The words that I chose will be in italic. This is part one of my story and I hope you like it. also, when the story is done, comment what you think the title should be. The one that I like the most will be the title for my story. Enjoy!)

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Lucinda. She was the smartest person in her grade and was the prettiest girl in the whole school.

She was tall and had long straight brown hair with a small side fringe. Which she took extremely good care of. She had a beautiful oval shaped face that had glowing auburn skin. And her almond shaped eyes were such a bright hazel that they looked almost yellow. Which gave her a curious yet enchanting look.

She had a black cat named Luna and a doting mother and father. As Lucinda was their only child and she was pretty and smart. It wasn’t a surprised that they unknowingly spoiled her. Whenever Lucinda asked for anything, they gave way easily. This made her selfish and rude. But she wasn’t always this way.

When she was little, she was a sweet girl. Willing to help anybody and was so polite. She also believed in all sorts of things back then. Like angels and fairies. For in that time angels and fairies worked together to help God.

But not now. The 12-year-old Lucinda now didn’t even believe in God. Much less the angels and fairies. The Lucinda now was a girl that never took on responsibility and was always complaining.

One day she complained that She was lonely and needed a sister. And her parents, after considering this after a while, decided to co to the local orphanage and adopt a girl on the condition that once Lucinda had chosen one of the children, she couldn’t take her back to the orphanage if she didn’t like her. And Lucinda, hearing this, agreed. Smiling

So that very afternoon, they walked over to the orphanage half a mile away. There were a lot of kids there. And as Lucinda was the one who wanted a sibling, they let her talk to the children and choose one of them to be her sister.

Lucinda thought of a sibling as someone to support you in doing whatever you are doing good or bad, sharing secrets, and being partners in crime. After seeing so many Selena’s and sallies and Maddie’s and other girls, Lucinda finally chose a girl named Sage.

But the funny thing is, Lucinda didn’t even talk to sage. She just chose her because of her looks. Which wasn’t a surprise because since Lucinda was the prettiest so she usually just judged people based on their looks.

Sage was medium height, had long wavy black hair and ivory skin, and had dark brown eyes that were quick and snappy. So, in the end, sage got chosen as Lucinda’s new sister. But Sage wasn’t the sneaky girl that Lucinda thought she would be.

In fact, she was quite the opposite. Sage was kind, caring and wise with her decisions. Sage tried to tell Lucinda to not be selfish and even tried to help Lucinda with her manners to improve them. But as time passed, Lucinda grew to dislike Sage and her kind ways. Lucinda’s Parents however, loved sage more than Lucinda ever did. They still gave in to Lucinda. But they looked happier when talking to or spending time with sage.

Lucinda started to teas Sage for her good deeds and laughed whenever Sage tried to reason with her. But after all those years of being clearly disliked by Lucinda, Sage still tried to reason and spend time with the now 14-year-old Lucinda. But this mad Lucinda resent her even more.

“When will this silly 12-year-old learn to give up bothering me?” thought Lucinda to herself.

And Lucinda, knowing that she couldn’t bring Sage back to the orphanage, came up with a plan. That night, she looked up at the stars and wished that Sage would disappear to another Country, no. Another continent, no. to above the SKY! Now satisfied with her wish, went to sleep.

The next day, she wasn’t  familiar with her surroundings. Her mind also felt blank. Her whole body felt a weird sensation. Almost like she was floating. She stood up woozily.  And then her memory went black. When she opened her eyes, she was in the exact same spot she was standing before. As if nothing had happened.

Then she looked up, she saw two fairies. One was a redhead with a button up purple blouse with a green shorts. And the other Was a blond and had a neon orange shirt with a puffy brown skirt. Both of them were smiling.

“Who are you?” asked Lucinda sleepily. One by one, the two fairies introduced themselves.

“My name is Bonnie” Said the fairy in the blouse and shorts.

“and my name is Mallie” Said the fairy in the shirt and skirt.

“And we are the Fairies of the clouds” Said them both in unison.

“What do you mean?” Said Lucinda beginning to come to.

“We are above the Clouds right now.” Said Bonnie. “But this world above the clouds is divided into two worlds. I am Responsible for one world-“

“And I rule the other” interrupted Mallie. “And Since you will be staying here for a while, You are allowed to choose which of the worlds you want to stay in.”

“ Ooh!” Said Lucinda. Now fully awake. “Tell me more about them!”

“Well,” said Bonnie “in my world, everyone works hard all day and then when the day is done, they are rewarded for their hard work.”

“But in my world,” said Mallie “everyone has fun all day and when the sun has set, everyone comes home for a good night sleep.”

Lucinda thought for a while. “hmm..” Thought Lucinda. “Bonnie did say that they would give a reward and the end of the day… But who wats to work all day? On the other hand, in Mallie’s world, I can enjoy myself all I want.” And Lucinda, being Lucinda, Chose to go to Mallie’s World.

“Are you quite sure?” Asked Bonnie.

“Yes” Replied Lucinda.

Then, Mallie took her by the hand and walked with her to her world. On the way, Lucinda caught a glimpse of Bonnie’s world. Bonnie’s world was full of fields and rolling hills. Where Children Lucinda’s age sowing seeds, watering them, fetching pails of water, and picking ripe fruits and vegetables. Lucinda also noticed that they were sweating heavily. But to Lucinda’s surprise, They seemed completely happy.

But Lucinda had no time to wonder why they were so happy with their heavy work. Because Mallie and Lucinda came to a huge wall built of grey stones that had an ominous yellow glow radiating from them. Here and there the wall was encrusted of jewels of all shapes and sizes. And the edges of the wall was covered in creeping ivy. It was so breath taking that it took several nudges from Mallie to get Lucinda’s attention.

Mallie pointed to a bunch of vines hanging down from the wall. Lucinda then noticed that there was a dim orange vine among all the other green vines that Lucinda was sure wasn’t there before.  Mallie gave the orange vine a little tug and all the vines parted.

“Come on!” Said Mallie excitedly. Lucinda followed Mallie through the opening in the wall. What was on the other side was so amazing that Lucinda didn’t notice that  the vines closed behind them. Dun, dun duuun! (That was for dramatic effect. Lucinda didn’t really hear that sound)  To Be Continued....

Anyway That was the end of part one. I apologize for any grammar mistakes or awkward word choice that I might have made. I hope you enjoy part one and please stay tuned for part Two!
